Current Event #27: Switching Identity/Past or Present

Current Event #27: Switching Identity/Past or Present
Due: Friday, June 1st, 2012

Recently, First Lady Michelle Obama, was asked by reporters if she could be anybody in the world past or present, who would she choose and why. She responded by selecting R&B/Pop Sensation Beyonce Knowles-Carter. She stated that she loves her dance routines and would have to learn how to sing in order to come close to the music icon. This indeed is a great compliment and honor for Beyonce, considering that the U.S. President's wife idolizes such a cultural musical giant.Michelle Obama's article can be found at the following Huffington Post link:  http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/24/michelle-obama-wants-to-t_n_1543567.html

What You Will Do:

1. Select one individual past or present that you admire and would consider switching identity with. Be sure to discuss who the person is and what contributions or actions/influence he or she has had on society.

2. Explain why you chose the individual and what experiences would come from walking in that person's shoes for any amount of time.

3. Discuss at least one thing that makes you similar to the person you chose and one thing that you would have to change/do in order to come close to the talent of your person of choice.

I'd like to switch identities with Princess Diana. Lady Diana was the late Princess of Wales. She contributed to society in many ways by fundraising for international charities. She helped the lives of many in desperate by enriching it and providing them with hope.

I chose Princess Diana because she was very influential in society. She was also very regal and elegant, and admired around the world. From walking in her shoes, it would be very busy, but I'd learn how to handle everything with poise.

I'm similar to Princess Diana in the ways that I love to help people. I never get tired of helping and I like to work with people in need. I think what I'd have to do to change myself to become more like the Princess would be appearing elegant at all times!

Well obviously I would choose someone super wealthy or if we could choose fictional people, a super hero or something. But, if it was in the matter in character and influence, I think I would go with George Patton. for those of you that do not know, George Patton was a three star general from world war II. He was not only one of the best military strategists of all time, but a great philosopher. He is also one of the greatest Americans of all time.
    2. Explain why you chose the individual and what experiences would come from walking in that person's shoes for any amount of time.
I chose him for his sheer determination, will, and courage. I'm sure being him for a day would dependently change someone to a true patriot.
    3. Discuss at least one thing that makes you similar to the person you chose and one thing that you would have to change/do in order to come close to the talent of your person of choice. I would say my most similar characteristic with him is straightforwardness. he was never afraid to call things as he saw them, nor am I. I must say that the trait I would need to learn from his is leading, being a commander.

I think I would want to switch Identities with Michael Jordan. He is a very wealthy man, and has a life on his shoulders. Michael Jordan has had a great effect on the history of basketball. His legacy is one of personified greatness. His game was beautiful, elegant and graceful and it inspired an entire generation of children all over America to "be like Mike." He set many records for basketball and also made shoe of his own, Jordan’s. Jordan’s are still greatly worn today. They are worn for looks, style, basketball, “swag”. The air Jordan was Michael Jordan’s first shoe that was a big hit on his fame.

I chose Michael Jordan because I think he is an important man to sports history, he’s wealthy, smart, and has his head straight. He has a personal life but he still gets his business done on the court. I think it would be great if I was walking in is shoes for any amount of time. I would get to see what it took for him to be where he’s at now.

I would say im very similar to Michael Jordan because we both love the game of basketball; also we started very young in what we do. There are two things I can think of right off the top of my head, one is gender, I would be a women in his shoes, second, we would have to change his high school choices, because I made varsity my freshman year and because of his size he didn’t. last but not least I would have to work way harder then what im working now to become like Michael Jordan.

I would choose to be Bill Gates because he is one of the richest men in the world, and he created something that is very useful and important for the day to day life for most people. Bill Gates invented computer software that lets people easily use computers. I think that most people would agree that Bill Gates is very inspirational and innovative.

I chose the individual Bill Gates because, he created products that the majority of people seem to apreciate because of how much more productive the world has become through the use of his microsoft software. He also has a lot of money, but he is still generous because he donates a large portion of his money to poor people in Africa to make their lives better. I find this very good.

I think that I am similar to Bill Gates in the way that I am smart and make choices that I think are correct. Another common similarity is between us is that we both did not learn a lot in ninth grade social studies. Also both of us have black hair.

  5. If I could switch identities with anybody in the world, I would pick a smart and rich person, such as Larry Bird. Larry Bird was a very skilled and talented basketball player in the 1970s and 1980s. He won NBA championships MVPs in his career with the Boston Celtics. However, not only was he a talented player, he was also a very good coach for the Indiana Pacers in the early 2000s. He won Coach of the Year in 1998, and helped the Pacer team reach the Eastern Conference Finals before losing to Michael Jordan's Bulls. Not only was he successful as a coach, he became the executive of the Indiana Pacers, and won NBA Executive of the Year in 2012.

I would choose Larry Bird, because he was such a good basketball player at the time. He averaged about 27.4 points a game. Not only was he a good player, he won NBA championships, unlike Lebron James. He was also a good coach and even an executive. He has been successful at nearly everything he has done in the game of basketball, and it would be awesome to experience such success. He would also be very rich due to his playing career and money earned from owning the Indiana Pacers.

I cannot think of any ways that I am similar to Larry Bird. In order to become somewhat like him, I would have to excel in one of my talents, such as baseball. Not only as a player, but understand the game and be a good coach and executive. There are only a handful of people like Larry Bird, so though striving to be like him is good, realistically, the chances are not very likely.

The person I would choose would be Jeremy Lin. He is a basketball play who plays basketball. He went to Harvard which is really cool. He is a Taiwanese American and now plays for the New York Knicks. He is in the process of becoming the best NBA player the world has ever seen after Linsanity broke out this year. I want to be him because his salary will soon be really good, he's my idol, and he's asian. Jeremy Lin is the greatest person alive. He inspires asian people everywhere.

My reasons for being Jeremy Lin are very good. He went to Harvard which would make my mommy extremely proud of me and it would make her brag about how successful her beautiful son is to all her asian friends. Another reason would be that playing basketball for a living would be fun. Plus the huge sum of cash money professional athletes get paid isn't too bad either. I would lead the Knicks to an NBA championship and win MVP all day.

Me and Jeremy Lin are both American born Asians. One of the reasons he is so popular is because of his race, which is pretty cool. Jeremy Lin is about to become a living legend, and of course I will too. We're both incredibly smart and good-looking.

If I could switch identity with anyone in the world, past or present, I would choose YouTube sensation, Christina Grimmie. She is a pianist, singer, and songwriter known for her song covers uploaded onto her YouTube channel, zeldaxlove64. Although she did not contribute much to society, she participated in the UNICEF charity concert and performed back-up vocals and openings for several singers such as Selena Gomez and the Jonas Brothers. Christina was also present at the Digitour, a tour specifically for YouTube artists.

There are many reasons as to why I chose Christina Grimmie and not a widely known celebrity. I am rather a lazy person and a dramatic yet ecstatic life is something I do not want. I cannot even imagine how hectic some celebrities’ lives are. Personality wise, I think we are alike in various ways and have similar interests. Given a few years, it is likely that her life will become more complicated and crazy, but that happens to everyone. To sum it up, Christina’s life seems to have a balance between fun and work.

One thing that connects us? Zelda. We both enjoy the Legend of Zelda series, but also other games, such as Mario and the Super Smash Bros. series. I know for a fact that Christina is engaged in more popular games than I am, such as Skyrim and the recently released, Diablo III; but we both retain an interest in Zelda games. The most obvious thing I need to have in order to come close to her talent is the ability to sing. I have no singing talents whatsoever; I’m more interested in writing.

If I had to pick one person to switch places with, it would probably be Oprah. I admire how much she's helped everyone and how much of an impact she's left on the world. Oprah has helped millions of people with the money she's earned from her talk show and "OWN" network. She's donated to many charities and also started a school in Africa.

I chose Oprah just because I think it's amazing how modest and poised she is with all her money. She's one of the richest people in the world, yet she continues to give so much away. She just loves helping people, and be being her; I would get that same experience.

I'd love to grow up and do something that helps someone somewhere. I want to be a benefit to the world, and I want to know that I changed the world for the better. I think me and Oprah share that passion.

  9. If I had to switch my identity with someone else it would be Mac Miller. He is a hip-hop artist who has been singing since he was an upper classman in high school. He grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is also good friends with Wiz Khalifa who also is from Pittsburgh. I listen to his music everyday and so do a bunch of my friends he is getting more popular every year with his annul new music flow.
Being Mac Miller would mean basically doing everything he does making music, chilling in Pittsburgh, and going on tour. Hopefully I would make some good music and have a great time as a celebrity. I chose him because his music helps me get through my days. I listen to him in school and out of school. There would also be a lot of parties which is always fun.
I am not very similar to him other than I love music like him, especially hip-hop. Also that I wear snapbacks which people say he brought back from not being very popular as it was in the 80’s. If I had to change myself to be more like Mac Miller I would have to start getting serious about music like start with writing a song maybe or working on freestyles.

i would totally switch places with taylor swift. shes super awesome. shes a great singer and guitar player and stuff, plus i'd like to see what its like being a girl. she does lots of charities and stuff and donates lots of her tickets to make a wish and gives tickets away to poor people. and i think she goes on mission trips. not sure though.

if i were her just for a day, i'd know what it would be like to be a girl, and what it would be like to be famous. these to things arent horribly important to my existence, however still rather interesting and maybe even helpful somewhere along down the line.

well we are both blonde and impecibly good looking. taylor swift, being such a great artist, has published some of the greatest songs of all time. i come close to her talent by performing her songs in my shower in the morning/night.

I would want to be Brian Scalabrine of the Chicago Bulls. It would be great to be a benchwarmer in the NBA while spending time with future legends. It would also be cool to go into meaningless games in the NBA to say that I played in it.

I would know what it is like to be in the NBA, even though I'm not good.

We are similar because we are both awful at basketball, but we put our heart and soul into cheering on teammates that will eventually be legends.

I would love to switch places with Bill Gates. Bill Gates is famous for founding Microsoft, one of the leading computer software companies in the world. Microsoft created the Windows operating system which is probably the most widely used operating system in the world.

I picked Bill Gates because I love computers, and he has a lot of this thing called “money”. He does give some of his money away occasionally, but it would still be nice to have more money to spend at one time.

To get closer to him, I would probably have to learn a lot more about computers. I feel like I know a decent amount already, but not nearly enough as anyone employed by Microsoft.

If I could choose to be any one I would be Troy Tulowitzki. He is the starting shortstop for the Colorado Rockies. Since I am from Colorado, I grew up watching and admiring Troy. He has put a lot of hard work into his job and I wish I could be as good as him some day.

If I was Troy Tulowitzki I could fulfill my dream in making it to the MLB. I would see how much work it would take to get there and how hard I would have to train. I would also learn what it is like to be at that level. Also I would learn how to cope with all the stress and fame.

We are similar in the fact that we both love baseball. We have
both been playing it since we were very young. We both had the dream to get to the MLB, and he has already fulfilled that dream. We both also love the Rockies. I think it would be awesome to switch places with Troy Tulowitzki.

If I had the opportunity to switch identities with someone else, I wouldn't take advantage of it. I would rather live my own life, have my own experiences, earn my own success, and fight my own battles. Everyone has their own problems, even the people society idolize. People think they know celebrities, but we don't. We see who they want us to see; everyone is capable of putting on a show. No one is perfect, everyone has their own problems and flaws, but that doesn't mean it isn't ok to have role models and people who inspire you. Life isn't fair, some people have it way better than others but part of self respect is being satisfied with who you are and the life you already have. Being satisfied with the life you already have doesn't mean you shouldn't work up to your potential, but it means enjoying the moment you're in and not letting small successes and joys be forgotten. Self respect isn't an easy value to remember, especially when you're constantly being told you aren't good enough, and you should be more like someone else, but it is something that we can all strive toward just like any other dreams we may have.

I would want to be the Dalai Lama if I could be anyone in the world. The Dalai Lama is the Head of State and Spiritual Leader of the Tibetan people. He's been trying to help Tibet call itself its own country from China. The Dalai Lama is supposed to be a reincarnation of enlightened spiritual leaders who have been reborn to enlighten others.

I just thought it might be cool to be the Dalai Lama because he holds a lot of wisdom and is trying to help achieve justice for Tibetans. Right now he's living in exile in northern India. It's be cool to stay away from the world sometimes, you know be away and just not worry about all the worldly matters.

Well the Dalai Lama has a lot of wisdom I don't think I have that, but he likes peace and harmony and I like peace and harmony, so we have some common interests.

If I could switch with anyone, I would pick Lauren Faust. She is an artist, writer, animator, and show creator. She has also used her fame to give money to charity and inspire people to be unique. She works to write shows that break out of stereotypes and make it so kids shows can be enjoyed by everyone. Through joining and creating charity auctions, she has made thousands of dollars for good causes. Her shows have inspired many people to meet friends and be a lot happier. Lots of people look up to her and she is kind enough to answer their questions and talk to them.

If I was in her place, there would be a lot of very interesting experiences. It would be amazing to have her talent with art and writing. It also must be a really good feeling to see the change that she had made from her point of view. She works very hard but she also gets a lot of credit for her work so it would be worth it. She has lots of fans and lots of great praise.I am similar to Lauren Faust as I am determined and artistic. I also try not to follow gender and age stereotypes like her. If there was one person who I could switch places with; I think that I would choose Larry Bird. Larry Bird was one of history's greatest basketball players. He completely changed the way the game is played and is comparible to other great plays like Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan. He brought his own special game to the court. He created turnovers, he had assists, he had pooints, and he had rebounds. He basically had the whole package. I wish I could possess a fraction of the skill and talent Larry Bird possessed. He played basketball with skills unrivaled by any player before him.

I chose Larry Bird because of how good of a basketball player he is. his basketball both his basketball IQ and talent are off the charts. He made so much happen in the games he participated in. When he played well, his team played well. He was the heart and soul of the Boston Celtics. I can only imagine myself being as great as him, and thayt is why I thought it would be really cool to trade places with him.

One thing that Larry and I probably have in common is our love for basketball. Both Larry and I have a love for the game of basketball. I would have to really improve my basketball skills in order to play the game on the level that Larry Bird did. Right now I can only dream of being as skillful as him, but possessing the talent that Larry Bird possessed must feel absolutely amazing. I would love to trade places with Larry Bird.

She went through some tough times and felt that no on understood her. She went to rehab for bipolar disorder plus an eating disorder and she is still rebuilding herself while being amazing and strong in every way. She's accomplished many things for her age which she is currently only nineteen years old. She won the favorite pop artist award at the people's choice award over katy Pery, Riihanna, Lady Gaga, and Beyonce. I think that it is such a great accomplishment.

Demi is also speaking out about bullying and she is helping kids who are going through tough times with bullies. Demi was bullied herself. Demi has inspired many girls, and she also saved the life of a girl who almost did not make it. I think that its incredible. Besides being an amazing role model, Demi is also a great musician. I would love to experiance being a talented musican, and a great actor that many young adults look up to. The thing that connects Demi and I, is that we have gone through similer struggles. You never see her in the media for anything negative, and I believe she is a positive role model for girls of all ages. She is determined and hard working and doesn‘t let much put her down. If I were to switch identities with her, I would have to learn how to sing and life would be pretty busy. I would be traveling constantly and have the pressure of creating new albums, though it would be worth it all I’m sure. It seems like she handles the business well anyways. I wouldn’t have a “normal” life anymore, and I’m not sure how I’d adjust to that. I am similar her only in the ways that, we are both Christian and like country music. Her songs have a deeper meanings of the world around us, not like the trash that the rest of the singers like Ke$ha who talk about partying and getting wasted. Also, she's pretty clean cut. Taylor told Rolling Stone that she's never experimented with cigarettes or drunk even a bit of alcohol. Taylor is also a good role model: she doesn't put up with stuff from bullies. When people treated her rudely, she got over it and didn't let it affect her. She uses that negative energy for good. "As I was setting up my equipment to sing karaoke at the town summer festival, the kids would shout horrible things." Taylor told Self magazine, "The only thing I can do is look back and thank [those classmates]. If I hadn't been so driven to music because I didn't have anyone to hang out with, if I hadn't written songs because I didn't have anyone to talk to, I wouldn't be sitting here right now." Klhoe seems to have her life together and seems to always try to be successful. I would love to walk in her stilettos for any amount of time, just to see where her drive for success comes from.
I think that Khloe and Is personality are some what similar because we both have like a very “care free” attitude. I think that one thing that I would have to work on to have Khloe’s talent would be not letting what people negative comment say affect me in any way

If I switched my identity with anyone, it would be my grandmother, Anne Kerr Stouffer. She died when I was just three years old. She grew up in Asheville, North Carolina. She was not successful, but she had a really big heart. She was warm and friendly to everyone she met. She was also really patient. But most importantly, my grandmother loved The Lord. She was a very strong Christian, and she did as much for The Lord. She was very close with the ladies at her church. My grandmother traveled with them a lot, and she sent postcards to my dad and his siblings. She loved knitting and she loved her children and her grandchildren.

I would switch places with my grandmother because I want to have as big of a heart as she did. My dad tells me how I remind him of his mother. I want to really be nice and care about people the way that she did. I want to be as strong as a Christian as she was. But also, she loved me. She spoiled me until she was sick, seven months before she died. A few times a year, she would come down to Galveston, Texas, where I used to live before I moved to Chapel Hill, and she visited us. She was not a spoiled, snobby, rich, famous, celebrity. She was a typical woman with a kind heart. She did not do nice things for people to get attention, but she did it for the love of The Lord.

I have always been told I am like my grandmother, and I look like her. She had big eyes and thick brown hair, just like me. She loved to travel, and I hope to travel as much as she did. She was also not competitive, and she cared about bigger things in the world, and I think that way. There is more to life than winning awards and having lots of money. We were on this world for a purpose, and winning awards and having lots money is not one of them.

  37. I guess, from an objective standpoint, I would switch lives with someone very, very rich.

However, I don't think that, given the chance, I'd take it. I wouldn't like being rich because of someone else' accomplishments. The best thing to do would be to achieve highly for myself. Of course, I have people that I admire and would like to emulate, but to switch lives with one of them at its culmination would be cheap.

    1. to be honest the person I look up to and admire is also Beyonce Knowls. I would want to switch with Beyonce because she has is living her life right and she is smart. She dated, got married, then had a baby which isn’t what some women do.Beyonce is very beautiful and I love her music. I have always looked up to her since I was very young. Many young girls look up to Beyonce because she is a prime example of how a woman should act.
    2. I think that if I switched places with Beyonce I would learn how to deal with bad situations better. When it comes to bad situations I usually don’t think to long about it and make rash decisions.
    3. Beyonce is a singer and I love to sing! For me to have any type of talent comparable to Beyonce I would have to take singing lessons ! and be taller and learn how to dance is high heels. Beyonce has so many talents and she is a very good role model for young girls.

If I could switch places with anyone, I would switch places with Aaron Rodgers, the quarterback of the Green Bay Packers. Aside from being a very good quarterback, and winning Superbowls, Aaron Rodgers has done many different things to benefit society, He has given millions of dollars to charitys, and done many different thigns to give back.
I would switch places with Aaron Rodgers because he is my favorite player in the NFL;I am really curious to see what it would be like to be him for a day. I think I would learn how to be more humble and down to earth if I was Aaron Rodgers. As good as he is, he doesn't really broadcast it, and is a regular person much like you or me.
What Aaron Rodgers and I have in common is that we are both atheletes. In order to come close to his talent I would have to practice and train a ton.

I admire Albert Einstein and would consider switching places with him. Albert Einstein was a famous scientist most known for his work in physics. He came up with numerous theorems and postulates, the most famous of which is the theory of relativity. He is also known for revolutionizing the way that we think about radioactivity and how it gives off energy. He also laid the groundwork for many fields, including Nuclear Physics, Quantum Mechanics and the discovery of photon particle behavior. He was involved in the Manhattan project as well.

I chose Albert Einstein because he completely altered our thinking about physics, the structure of the universe and molecular theory. His work was revolutionary and without him we would be nowhere in science at this point. He also warned FDR himself about the possibility of the Germans building a nuclear weapon and highlighted the danger of such a weapon. He experienced so many things in his lifetime, such as WWII and the development of the Nuclear Weapon. It would be facinating to be able to walk in his shoes and see what he saw.

Albert Einstein and I share one major thing in common; we are both very interested in Physics. I would love more than anything to work as an experimental physicist after I get out of college. That is the big similarity between Albert Einstein and I. However, I would have to alter my plans for after I get out of college. Where I plan to live does not have the best Physics labs near it. I would also have to take a few different classes, such as all the AP Physics classes offered at Chapel Hill. I may also have to try to get into the Durham School of Science and Math so I could better follow his career path.

If I could be anyone for a day, I would be Carrie Underwood. She is a country music singer, who is a good influence on many people. She works with several charities and is well known around the world for her great personality and voice.

If I was Carrie Underwood I would get to meet many other artists and win awards and be able to have a huge influence on children or in charities in a positive way. I would get to use my publicity to help others in a way that I would never be able to do as myself. She supports at least thirteen charities including the Humane Society and Saint Jude's Hospital.

Carrie Underwood and I both like country music, we like to help people in need and have a fun-loving spirit. Haha to change to be like her i would have to become blond.

If I could switch places with anyone I would want to switch places with Beyonce. I would pick her because she is a very good singer and she is very multi-talented. She is an actress, singer, song-writer, dancer, and helps multiple causes. Plus she has a lot of money.

She supports multiple causes like children in Africa and helps make them more known. She is a great influence to the world because she uses her fame and money for good causes unlike some people.

We don't have a lot in common but we both do love music. Something I would have to change to come close to her talent is learn how to sing. We also both want to help the world in some way or another and that's how I think we are alike.

If I could anyone in the world I would want to be Lil Wayne, the rapper. Lil Wayne is very creative and has a lot of power of the music industry. When New Orleans was affected by Hurricane Katrina, he returned to his hometown to help recover from the storm.
If I was Lil Wayne, I could basically do whatever I wanted. I would try to see how it felt to have it made for a day and to be worry free. I think that I would try to do something memorable while I was him. I think that me wanting to be someone important for a day, I should do something important.
Lil Wayne and I both like to be different and free-spirted. We also both like to be our own person, not following what everyone else is doing. To change to be like him I would have to be a male, dark-skinned, and have dreads.

  46. I would switch identities with Jeremy Lin. He is an aspiring NBA player and has recently stormed out with the support of all his fans and some excellent playing on the court. Also, he graduated from Harvard, which is pretty cool, especially for an NBA player. Jeremy Lin is also a very humble person, taking little credit for himself, and isn't super snobby like some other athletes. Because he is a Harvard graduate, he is also set after his NBA career, if he chooses to continue working. He has created a nice cushion for himself, along with his other athletic and academic achievements.

What Jeremy Lin and I have in common is that we're both asian, and both Taiwanese American.

I would switch places with Taylor Swift. She is an amazing singer, songwriter and she can play multiple instruments. She does a lot of donations to different charities. She is a big inspiration for many people and I appreciate how she takes that responsibility seriously. She is an overall good person and makes a difference to make the world a better place.
I chose Taylor Swift because even though she is famous, she is able to still able to be herself. She doesn’t conform to any of the typical celebrity stereotypes and I respect her for that. It would be an interesting experience to be famous. I think it would help me learn how to be more diplomatic. It would also show me what celebrities have to deal with and the lack of privacy most of them have.
Both Taylor Swift and I love music. I love playing the piano and I am learning how to play the guitar. I would need to learn how to sing and how to write songs if I wanted to be her. I would also have to be a lot more careful if I was her. Many things she does becomes public and it would be hard for me to learn how to deal with that.

He also gets paid a ton to do nothing else but swim. Thats like a 3-4 hour work day at most. I would switch places with him because I swim as well. Plus I'd have been in the Olympics and would have done none of the work to get there. He's also loaded, compared to other swimmers, so that'd be nice to. Besides the fact that we are both swimmers I'm pretty sure we have nothing in common.

If I could be anybody, I think I would pick to be Taylor Swift. I think she’s a great songwriter, singer, and she’s an overall humble and sweet person. Her songs can relate to a lot of different situations, which I really like.
She’s funny and outgoing. I don’t think she is the kind of celebrity that is around because of the fame, but because she enjoys making music and writing lyrics to help others. Her songs are like advice, but in a song. I know that her songs definitely helped me in certain circumstances. Her songs are also catchy, which is a plus!

I see most people have chosen rich people because they could be set for life. I choose a very famous person not because of this wealth but his talent. Sacha Baron Cohen is from England and starred in three recent popular comedic movies. He also hosted a comedy show in which he would interview some of the most brilliant people alive and acted completely stupid, without telling the people it was a joke (Ali G show). Sacha Baron has many comedic talents, and his main one is changing his voice, which he has used in all of his acts.

I chose Oprah because I want to know how it feels to have so much money and not be corrupted by the it. I want to learn how to be such an amazing person with lots of respect. She enjoys helping people and she doesn't want anything from it except for the people to be happy and safe.

If I could switch places with someone, I think it'd be Michelle Obama, actually. I really respect the way she exemplifies independence, respect, strength, love, motherliness, put-togetherness, and an actively advocating person. She grew up in the Southside of Chicago and beat the odds of not getting a good education and attended Princeton undergrad and Harvard Law School. She then became an advocate for civil rights as a lawyer in a Chicago firm where she met her future husband and the future president of the United States, Barack Obama. I chose Michelle Obama because her life is the life I hope to live someday and make such powerful statements as she does. I hope to become a good mother like she is and an advocate for good health.

I wouldn’t want to be anyone else. Who would want to live a life that isn’t their own? If I am going to be the person that I want to be, I want to get their by myself. However, I will write about a person that I really admire, even if I wouldn’t want to be them.
I really admire the actress Julie Andrews. She played Mary Poppins, Maria in the Sound of Music, and was in many other great movies and plays. She is a really good actress and singer, and is good at playing the loving, kind, motherly figure. Like I said, I wouldn’t want to be her, I just admire her. I can’t sing or act, and I have very severe shyness, so I couldn’t be like her at all.

My life is fine the way it is, and although there would be bonuses to be able to sing, or, act, or be rich for a day, there wouldn't be much fun in doing it for just one day. He was one of the original pioneers of Jazz and he did it all under the oppression of being a black man in the 40s and 50s, it must have been pretty hard. He was also a strong advocate for social change and supported the civil rights movement. Of course I'd have to learn to play the trumpet a bit better but that wouldn't be hard.
